Need to improve the integration with Pocket App! If delete a article on Pocket it should disappear on Rapid too after reload the articles! (ie. Velocity App)
The icon looks confusing on the home screen. Change please - more neutral colors. Further more the ui seems to be somewhat slow at times (iPhone 5)
Crashes every single time on iOS 8.
I am quite dissappointed with this app. I mean, I like the idea very much and it works reasonably well, once you managed to open a text to read. But 1. You dont recognize the structure of your text. A headline looks exactly the same as normal text and you keep wondering what these half sentences mean, before you realize it was a headline. Also, it would be good, if pictures could be displayed while reading in their vicinity, but it seems that, as soon as you start reading all that is shown are 13 characters. 2. The more serious drawback however is that I cannot read the ebooks i have stored with my kindle app or iBooks or PDFs - at least I did not find a way. How shall I use the app if not for my regular reading material? There seems to be a way to connect with pocket, readability, or instapaper, all of which I neither use nor even know, and it is possible to read from URLs, the latter being the only sensible use I can make of the app.
This is a nice little app, but it looks like the developer is having some trouble with the services that it syncs with post iOS8. This destroys the primary functionality. I look forward to new versions! Ability to sync with an Evernote notebook, or with a Dropbox folder would be tremendous.
And abandoned by the developer, Spritz interface broken
Will not load instapaper content. Just shows a spinning ball. Broken waste Of money at The moment.
It doesnt work with Pocket articles in Russian language. App closes when I try to read an article.
Its annoying! Spritz supports Russian language fully, I hope Youll fix it.
Its my favorite Spritz app for iOS. It has a good implementation and works most of the time. It would be nice to also have Pockets options for sharing articles. For example, I use Diigo to share articles with my coworkers and the Pocket app allows me to share articles through that service. It would be great to have that option inside Rapid as well. That would make my reading workflow complete: web/twitter -> Pocket -> Rapid -> share.
Its crashes all the time on iPad Air.
..and that is that it crashes on launch every single time.
Great looking app that does the reading portion well. Marred by slow and unresponsive UI — starting the app gives 5 seconds of an unscrollable list as it loads articles from external sources; opening an article takes 5 seconds (though this at least has a spinner); archiving it another 5 seconds; switching from "Archive" to "All sources"... you get the idea. Once I realise when I had to wait, the app became more bearable, but the first few minutes of having nothing respond to my touch were confusing and annoying. It shouldnt be unreasonable to expect speed from a speed reading app!
Bugs fixed from 4 to 5 star. --------- Had the instapaper non paid subscription app crashing issue. Reported it and got quick response email explaining that the issue has been identified and how to fix it while the update gets released. The app looks clean and does what it promises to do besides the addressed glitch (which appears not to be developers fault)... This app uses the official spritz technology which is great. Good job.
I plow through articles in no time flat and can retain everything. Favorite productivity app.
Ive been playing around with Rapid for about a week now. I really like it, but I think marketing this technology as a tool to help read faster isnt the best approach. I like to use Rapid to slow myself down when reading. I retain a lot more information this way, and Im not as easily distracted. Finally, I like see how long its going to take to read an article. Im giving this app 4 starts because I think there is room for improvement. I cant get Rapid to work with PDFs (maybe its user error???). I would also like to see better ways to control the speed and the inclusion of multimedia. Thats a tall order, but I think it can be done.
Some may say this is a gimmick. Its not. This is your opportunity to stop passively listening to books, and start enjoying them instead.
Finally clearing my albatross of a reading list!
How did such a buggy, crash prone app get on the App Store?
